Angelina Jolie Will Play The Next Cleopatra!
If the latest Hollywood news is to be believed, Angelina Jolie has been finalized for the next Cleopatra, at least according to the Oscar winning producer, Scott Rudin. Yes, the 35-year-old hazel-eyed beauty is going to play the most famous Egyptian queen, Cleopatra.
After two Oscar winning films, ‘No Country For Old Men’ and ‘There Will Be Blood’, Rudin is ready with his next project, based on Cleopatra and the secrets of her life. But instead of the old Cleopatra, starred by Elizabeth Taylor, which only dealt with the extravagant life of the queen, this film will focus on her political career, her romantic link up with Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony, her downfall, and mysterious death. In the words of the producer himself, the film is all about “the operatic life of an exceptionally seductive and powerful woman, whose death ushered in a new world order.”
Since there are so many beautiful ladies in the Hollywood, what was the reason of picking Angelina Jolie from the entire lot? Well, let’s hear it from the producer’s own domain. According to an official “Physically, she's the perfect look” for the role. During an official lunch, the producer even told the media that the role as well as the project is “being developed for and with Jolie." A couple of weeks ago, when the media asked whether they were planning to cast Brat Pitt for one of the main leads, the production house told that they had no idea about the male leads so far!
Meanwhile, a Hollywood birdie has told us that a similar project, which has been the dream project of filmmaker Steven Soderbergh has already been shelved. It was a 3D musical, featuring Catherine Zeta Jones as Cleopatra and Hugh Jackman as Mark Antony. By the way, who is going to play the male lead in this flick? According to the latest gossip, the name of Brad Pitt is being considered as Mark Antony. Is it rumor or a reality?
According to a close source of the production house, Brad Pitt is the ‘obvious choice’ for the role of Mark Antony. Is he trying to cash the romance of the most favorite couple of the industry? Of course, there must be something like that, unless what can force a producer to invest in the remake of such a film, which literally bankrupted the production house!!! Or is he counting on the fact that it was the highest-grossing film of that year!
