It's a jail sentence for Lindsay Lohan
Finally all speculations are over for Lindsay Lohan. Yesterday on July 6, the Mean Girls starlet has received jail sentence for 90 days due to the repeated violations of law during her probation period of three years.
To make the situation worse for Lohan, the court also sentenced her 90 days to spend in strict rehabilitation.
After get sentenced to jail and rehab, the star broke down into tears and turned to her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley helplessly. She even pleaded the Judge, Marsha Revel to be merciful on her, but that would not be any help for her. The entire drama took place in Beverly Hills court.
As the courtroom showdown began, the actress promised the judge that she would be nice and would also attend her alcohol education classes regularly. But sweetie, you must have realized this much before back in 2007, when the court allowed you to avail a three-year-probation. You had enough chance to avoid seeing such a bad day!
Ironically, when Lohan pleaded for leniency, the judge was busy in mentioning her failings during the entire probation period. She did not attend the alcohol monitoring classes regularly, which was a prime term of her bail. She missed total nine classes, which landed her in big trouble. On top of that, the actress may overestimate her in her ability to cheat, since she signed in the sign-in sheet of the classes but did not turn up for one day.
In last May, she even did not appear in a trial in the Los Angeles court, since she was busy in partying at the Cannes Film Festival. The court was furious at her, while she had her own excuse. According to the actress, her passport was stolen, which restricted her from appearing for the hearing!
As a return gift, the court offered her a new accessory, which she had to wear on her wrist all the time. She failed in this as well. In a couple of occasions, Lohan was found without the alcohol monitoring SCRAM device.
After all the episodes, she did not stop partying and drinking! Amazing…
After the judge had given her verdict, the star kept on defending herself by saying, “As far as I knew I was in compliance with my programs. I wasn’t trying to get special treatment. I have to provide for myself. I have to work. Having said that, I did everything to balance my jobs and showing up. I’m not taking this as a joke. It’s my life. It’s my career...I take responsibility for my actions. I’ve tried to do the best I can. It’s been such a long haul; I don’t want you to think that I don’t respect you."
This was the verdict and statement of the judge and the convict. Now we have to see for how long Lohan stays behind the bars. According to Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman, Steve Whitmore, she may stay one-quarter of her sentence, if she behaves well in the jail. Moreover, there is jail overflow, which is actually helping a number of celebs from heading off the bars.
