Kristen Steward Apologizes For Choosing The Wrong Word
Kristen Steward is always infamous for making wrong statements at wrong times. But this time the Twilight star has slipped her tongue a bit further!
In an interview with Elle magazine, she has commented on paparazzi intrusion as 'rape' for a celeb like her! Truly, a bold statement… isn't it?
It is quite usual that her comment would catch the ears of the industry insiders as Twilight Saga: Eclipse is in news these days. The Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network or RAINN immediately raises a finger at the celeb for her wrong choice of word. Since she does not want to affect the public review of the movie, she is ready with an apology.
On People.com, she has been heard saying that she feels sorry for choosing a wound word. She also mentions that the right word should be 'violated' instead of 'raped'. She said, "I really made an enormous mistake (using the word 'raped'), clearly and obviously. And I'm really sorry about my choice of words. 'Violated' definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought."
Let's quote the controversial comment from the starlet’s mouth. "What you don't see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction. All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up by a flash. It's so... The photos are so... I feel like I'm looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can't handle it. It's f****d. I never expected that this would be my life."
In another interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kristen said that she knows how hard the word is, since she plays a couple of characters, related to rape in Speak and Welcome to the Rileys. She said, “That is the one subject that means a lot to me. I made one movie directly concerning, and I made another one where my character has a horrible history of rape. I talked to a lot of people about it. I used the wrong word.”
But guess who supported Kristen for all the issues? No price for guessing it… Robert Pattinson. Not only he reacted violently, but he also posted comments on it. He said, “That whole system of internet journalists, where no one is called to account, is almost entirely about hate. All these people get away with doing it because they have no responsibility to anyone.”
We understand your feelings, Rob!
